The Lumberton Christian Care Center is hosting its 1st Annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser on Sunday, February 26th from 11 am till 3 pm at the center (220 E. 2nd Street). The menu is soup, crackers and desserts. Food will be provided by local restaurants and the center's very own Mr. Leroy. Tickets are $15 for a beautiful bowl you get to keep, soup and dessert. $10 for soup and dessert but no bowl. Children's tickets (ages 3 - 8) are available for $8. The bowls were made and donated by Jim Tripp's pottery class at RCC. Some of the potters include Nancy Pittman, William and Doris Currie, Josh Carnes, and Tim McMillan. Only 200 bowls are available.

The Lumberton Christian Care Center provides emergency and transitional housing for men, women, and families. Hot meals are provided Monday - Friday for anyone who wants to come, and donated food is often available for guests to take home. Laundry and shower facilities are open to residents and community members in need. Free clothing and hygiene kits are available, also. A computer room is available for job and housing searches. In 2016, LCCC served 30,090 meals and had 2,519 overnight stays.

Our church has supported the LCCC for many years through volunteers donating their time and talents, donating extra food from church events, and  money. Let us come out and support it again by enjoying a delicious lunch with friends and neighbors.  You can get your tickets from Anne Crain, Renie Mills, and Sarah Griffin-Greene or by calling the center at

739-1204.
